What We Offer
At MMT, we’ve found that many folks are convinced they don’t like trivia because it makes them feel dumb or inferior. And you know what, we mostly agree. So much of what’s out there only rewards one kind of intellect, and we believe that’s an unfair way to design a game. We think there are as many ways to be “smart” as there are people in your organization, and we want to make every person feel like they’re bringing a much-needed answer to the challenges their team is facing. So much of trivia is centered on biases of all kinds, and we are employing strategies to make sure people from all communities feel seen in our questions, our answers, and our approach to making a game that everyone can enjoy.

TRIVIA GAMES
LEVEL 1 — Traditional Trivia
This is what you think of when you think “trivia.” General knowledge, international capitals, history, pop culture. You know, questions & answers. And if you don’t know the answer, you’re out of luck. We’ve got hundreds and hundreds of rounds of good ole’ trivia for you if that’s what you’re looking for.
LEVEL 3 — Mindless Minutia Tournament Table Games
Each year MMT hosts a city-wide tournament with a thousand players and we’ve been developing our own signature games to play which often include props or physical elements, all without leaving your table. Many of our Table Games start with some kind of puzzle which teams have to piece together first, then try to solve the problems presented by the solved puzzle. When we break out the puzzles, things start heating up.
LEVEL 2 — Something A Little Different
We’ve spent the last few years working on rounds that are less about how many facts you can remember and more about how much you can figure out. These rounds resemble traditional trivia but are more like games that rely on how well players work together and encourage teamwork and communication. These rounds rely on different areas of expertise to succeed.
LEVEL 4 — Mindless Minutia Signature Team Games
Along with our Table Games, we also have challenges that involve a little more interaction, a little more movement, and are a world apart from old school trivia. This is where things get crazy fun. We’ve got a six foot long Scrabble board, a blindfolded twist on Pictionary, a reverse approach to charades and even a challenge that involves reaching into a box and trying to decipher what you’re feeling! These games are designed to get folks up from their seats and moving around the room.
OTHER TRIVIA-BASED GAMES
LOTERIA!
The traditional Mexican party game LOTERIA is essentially Bingo, but using Mexican words and images. After working with the decades-old version, we found some things in the game no longer in good taste, so we’ve created our own Mindless Minutia Loteria game that incorporates the best parts of the old game along with lots of Charlotte-specific references and jokes.
HOLIDAY PLAY
Our MM trivia games sprinkled with some holiday spirit (including holiday songs, classic movies, & more) add some cheer to your end of the year.
AAPI TILES
Tile games are some of the oldest in the world and can be traced back to early China, Afghanistan and even Mesopotamia. We've decided to use those games as inspiration for our newest team building activity “Tiles!” We’ve channeled all we’ve learned about game design & engaging players into our newest game combining strategy, trivia & teamwork. Incorporating Asian, Asian-American & Pacific Islander history, geography, food, sports, civics & pop culture as well as serving up challenges that get team members up and moving.

POLAR BEAR GAMES
Everyone has been made to play Ice Breakers too many times that feel forced or corny, but we’ve got more than a dozen games that feel more mature while still loosening everyone up. Let us curate a handful of games for you and your crew to get past that awkward phase and get into the real work.
SUNKEN TREASURE ESCAPE ROOM
An escape room experience in a box. Multiple teams can play against each other or everyone could play on one team. We bring the “room” to you, if you’re willing to play.
A pirate ship has been discovered in the Atlantic Ocean that was captained by a legendary looter who robbed from royalty and held other pirates captive for their treasures. There’s a myth that it may be the greatest collection of gold in the world. BUT many crews are after the same treasure and you’re just one of a handful of teams diving at the same time. Your tanks only hold 60 minutes of oxygen and other teams might just sabotage your chances. Can you get through the locked doors, find the hidden passageways, decode the lockboxes, and discover the loot before everyone else? You’ll have to work together, because time is already running out!
BOREDOM BUSTERS
Getting everyone together for an all-day retreat? Need some quick activities to keep the momentum up and the juices flowing? These games are quick and easy, get people on their feet and moving around. They can fit into a break or make up a session all their own.
THE REMIX
We’ve partnered with two of the best musicians in Charlotte for an experience you won’t find anywhere else. Acclaimed local folk-duo Falllift are remixing the old “Name That Song” game by playing one well-known song while singing a totally different hit song, all in the same tempo and key! Their talent will leave your group in awe and the game is just as engaging. Break up into teams and play against each other or play as an entire group. Great for a holiday party, an after-work cocktail hour, or a fundraiser. Afterwards, Falllift are available to play a few originals to finish up the night with an unforgettable ending.
LONG LIVE THE QUEEN CITY
Each team has a box of materials they can use to a) keep their crown safe by building a fort to defend your crown and b) to build a device that can knock off the next team’s crown. Will you keep the enemy out? Will you topple the next team? You’ll have to work together and use every bit of materials wisely. Or else.
